Grammy Museum Announces Expanded Lineup for 2026 Hall of Fame Gala

The Grammy Museum is gearing up for its third annual Hall of Fame induction gala, scheduled for May 8 at the iconic Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. This year’s event will celebrate the 52nd class of distinguished recordings, featuring live performances by legendary artists George Clinton, Heart, Lucinda Williams, and the vocal ensemble Take 6. Notably, all except Take 6 have recordings being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year.

Honoring Norah Jones with the Ray Charles Architect of Sound Award

Joining the roster of performers, Norah Jones will be honored with the Recording Academy’s prestigious Ray Charles Architect of Sound Award. This accolade, introduced last year with Jon Batiste as its first recipient, recognizes artists who embody the innovative spirit and musical versatility of Ray Charles. Jones, acclaimed for her talents as a singer, pianist, songwriter, and producer, has also been a vital advocate for emerging artists across diverse musical genres.

Expressing her gratitude, Jones shared, “I’m so honored to receive the Ray Charles Architect of Sound Award. Ray Charles was my musical hero, and he changed the way so many of us hear and feel music. To be recognized in connection with his legacy, and as part of a night that also celebrates such important recorded works, is special for me.”

Celebrating a Landmark Collection of Influential Recordings

The 2026 Grammy Hall of Fame Gala will induct 14 seminal recordings that have left an indelible mark on American music history. This year’s class includes nine albums and three singles, each surpassing the 25-year threshold required for eligibility. Among the honored works are Radiohead’s groundbreaking OK Computer, 2Pac’s iconic All Eyez On Me, Lucinda Williams’ critically acclaimed Car Wheels on a Gravel Road, Funkadelic’s influential Maggot Brain, and Nick Drake’s haunting Pink Moon. The list also features Alice Coltrane’s spiritual masterpiece Journey in Satchidananda, Janet Jackson’s powerful Rhythm Nation 1814, and Eric B. & Rakim’s classic Paid in Full. Additionally, the gala will honor historic contributions from artists such as Bertha “Chippie” Hill, Ella Jenkins, The Rouse Brothers, Selena, and The Soul Stirrers.
