Kanye West Unveils Tracklist for Upcoming Album Bully

Kanye West has officially disclosed the tracklist for his highly anticipated 12th studio album, Bully, set to release this Friday, March 27, through Gamma. The announcement came via a rare post on X (formerly Twitter) on March 25, where the hip-hop legend shared a photo of the handwritten list of 18 songs featured on the project.

Album Details and Notable Tracks

This marks Kanye’s first solo album since 2021’s Donda. Among the tracks are previously released singles such as “Preacher Man,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “Damn.” While the full roster of producers and collaborators remains under wraps, rumors suggest that Travis Scott lends his vocals to the track “Father.” Additionally, longtime producer Mike Dean is confirmed to be involved in the album’s production.

Kanye’s Stance on AI Usage in Bully

Contrary to earlier claims that artificial intelligence played a role in the album’s creation-specifically in replicating his voice-Kanye clarified in his tweet that Bully contains “no AI.” This statement contrasts with a 2025 interview with Justin Laboy, where Kanye demonstrated experimenting with AI technology to isolate vocals, basslines, and drum tracks for sampling purposes.

He explained, “You can take any song and separate it – just get the vocals, the bassline, the drums. So when I send a song for a sample to my engineers, I just say, ‘JS, AI.’ Me and my engineer, John Scott, we’re speaking in, like, digital THX [language].” Despite this, Kanye emphasized that he manually chopped all samples for Bully, aiming for a more organic sound.

Artistic Vision and Inspirations Behind Bully

Kanye described the album as a “more positive” body of work, drawing parallels to iconic records like Lauryn Hill’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and Gnarls Barkley’s debut. He acknowledged the potentially controversial title Bully, noting that while many oppose bullying, his project channels a “hyper-next-level frequency” that redefines the term in his own artistic context.

Context: Kanye’s Recent Controversies and Apology

Bully arrives in the wake of Kanye West’s public apology for his antisemitic remarks, which had led to the loss of major partnerships with brands like adidas and Gap, as well as a significant decline in his net worth, stripping him of billionaire status. In a heartfelt letter published in The Wall Street Journal earlier this month, Kanye expressed profound remorse for his past behavior, attributing some of his actions to undiagnosed brain injuries sustained in a 2002 car accident.

He wrote, “In that fractured state, I gravitated toward the most destructive symbol I could find, the swastika, and even sold T-shirts bearing it. I regret and am deeply mortified by my actions in that state, and am committed to accountability, treatment, and meaningful change. It does not excuse what I did though. I am not a Nazi or an antisemite. I love Jewish people.”

Upcoming Tour Dates Supporting Bully

To promote the album, Kanye West will embark on a global tour, including performances at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium on April 1 and 3. The tour will also extend internationally, with scheduled stops in India, Turkey, France, the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain between June and August, marking a significant return to live shows after a period of relative silence.
