The Ad with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in Spandex Short-Shorts and High Socks. [Photo]
Check out the ad with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in spandex short-shorts and high socks. Looking at it now, his shoes weren’t the only thing catching fire in that pic! It was his original ad campaign with L.A. Gear circa 1989! He was also the first face for the L.A. Gear, as they boomed in the early 1990′s; the company re-emerged in 2003 with the L.A. Lights line for the kids and sponsorship by Lakers’ Ron Artest AKA Metta World Peace and Lakers’ Luke Walton! The company also sported Michael Jackson (w/ a Cowboy outfit no less) in their original ad campaign (picture below)! S/O @GlobalVitoHH!
