The Yankees took the Citi-Field Subway Series (2-1) holding on to a 6-5 win over the Mets, last night! #Cano became the hero (Sunday player of the game) connecting on the game-winning solo HR (15) in the top of the eighth inning! #Mets ace R.A. Dickey (coming off back-to-back one hitters) got scorched for five runs punctuated on a three-run shot by Nick Swisher in the third inning! #Dickey scoreless inning streak ended at 44 2/3 innings (2nd to Dwight Gooden 49 innings 1985). C.C. Sabathia gave up five runs, but four of them were unearned, so some mistakes came off the field. #Yankees reliever Rafael Soriano lit it up in relief and got his 15th save in 16 chances! #Yankees #Swisher said after the series: “not bad for a bunch of chickens”; a sarcastic response to #Mets reliever Frank Francisco comment in the Post last week about how the #Yankees were “chickens”! In fact, the #Mets imported a joke chicken for the #SubwaySeries and named it “Little Jerry Seinfeld”; the chicken was sent to an animal sanctuary yesterday. In other #MLB news, the Red Sox traded 3B Kevin Youkilis to the White Sox!
