Yankees sweep Tribe, Mets crush Cubs!

#PettitteCConDL The #Yankees swept the Indians with a 6-5 win over the Tribe (Indians), and the #Mets crushed the Cubs 17-1, last night! Unfortunately for the #Yankees they won the game, but lost Andy Pettitte for six weeks with a broken fibula, and C.C. was already out with a strained groin!

#Jeter contributed hits in the first two games of the sweep!

#YankeesSweepTribe The NY Yankees swept the Cleveland Indians with a 6-5 win over the Tribe, yesterday! #Cano hit the go-ahead HR (18) and Eric Chavez knocked in three runs to help the #Yankees complete the sweep of the Indians! Rafael Soriano gave up a run, but still completed the save (18)! Unfortunately, Andy Pettitte was hit by a line drive in the fifth inning, and broke his ankle! The #Yankees (46-28) have won five-in-a-row, 15 of their last 17 games, and are tied (w/ the Texas Rangers) for 1st place in the AL!

#MetsCrushCubs The NY Mets stopped the bleeding (four-game losing streak) by crushing the Chicago Cubs 17-1, yesterday! Daniel Murphy homered twice, Ike Davis hit a three-run HR and RBI double, Scott Hairston hit a grand-slam, and David Wright drove in five runs! Jonathon Niese (6-3, 3.55 ERA) gave up eight hits, one run, one earned run, one walk, while striking out six in seven innings pitched! The #Mets (40-36) still have #Playoff potential, and are looming in third place in the NL East!
