Nova, Yankees sweep Nats!

Ivan Nova concluded the #Yankees sweep with a commanding 4-1 win over the Washington Nationals, yesterday! Nova (D.R.) pitched 7 2/3 innings giving up seven hits, one earned run, one walk, while striking out four batters! Nova (9-2, 4.32 ERA) won his fifth straight decision on the way to helping the #Yankees to their third straight sweep! The #Yankees (40-25) have now won nine in-a-row! Rafael Soriano got his 13th save of the season. In terms of run support: #Grandy hit his 21st HR of the year, #Cano got his 12th HR, and #Tex hit a sac-fly and scored a run (on an error)!

On Saturday, the #Yankees beat the Nationals, 5-3, on a clutch game-winning two-RBI Double by #Tex in the top of the 14th inning!

On Friday, #Grandy led the #Yankees to a 7-2 win on three RBI’s including his 20th HR of the season!

In other #MLB news, the Mets got swept by the Reds at Citi-Field, and #Eli (Manning) threw out the first pitch at Citi-Field on Sunday!
