The Dallas Mavericks acquired Lamar Odom from the LA Lakers for a $8.9 Million trade exception and a protected first-round pick on Sunday! The Lakers also threw a second-round draft pick! After the CP3 to the Lakers three-team deal fell through last week due the commish, the Mavericks still liked Lamar Odom and Odom felt disenfranchised from the Lakers! The Mavericks also just traded C Tyson Chandler to the Knicks, and liked the potential of a forward tandem with Dirk Nowitski, Shawn Marion, and now Lamar Odom!
“Right now, for me, having Odom, Dirk Nowitzki, Shawn Marion, we may have the best forward trio in this league right now. And that’s exciting,” Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said. “Lamar Odom is a guy we have great respect for as a person and as an all-around player in this league. We feel he’s going to add so many different dimensions for us — length, playmaking, scoring, experience, championship experience.” – espn
