China bans NBA-contracted players

‘Melo, Kobe, and CP3 will not be able to play in China this season. The Chinese Basketball Association has restricted NBA players under contract from playing for China. The CBA has not restricted NBA free-agents that would be available for the entire season unconditionally, Xinhua News Agency reported. The CBA is expected to also change contracts to knock out players leaving the team for suspect injuries and unverified family problems at home. The Chinese professional basketball season will begin on November 20.
