Hope and Abby on “Late Night with David Letterman”
U.S. Women’s soccer goalie Hope Solo, and forward Abby Wambach stopped by the “Late Night with David Letterman” show on Tuesday night. They even got David Letterman to play some soccer with them (10 minute mark on full video below). Abby Wambach also got a record-breaking welcome home to Rochester, NY on Wednesday. 15,404 people were attendance (Women’s pro-soccer record & stadium attendence record) when the Western NY Flash took on Abby’s D.C. Magic Jacks. NY Flash won 3-1 over Magic Jack, Abby couldn’t play, but offered up a beautiful half-time speech. Check it out and watch Hope and Abby on Letterman below!
“I want to be there for Rochester,” said Wambach, who did not play because of a lingering Achilles injury. “There are so many other opportunities I could have had … but not for one second did I think about not coming to Rochester, because I know this city is cheering the loudest.” – espnw
“I hope I didn’t disappoint too many people tonight, but my body really needed a rest,” Wambach said. “Honestly, I’m humbled.” – espn
