Candy Season: Best and Worst Halloween Candy

The candy consumption begins. It all starts this weekend with Halloween, unless you’ve already opened the jumbo packs of Snickers, that are supposed to be for the trick-or-treaters at your door on Sunday. I’m not judging…

Make sure you do grab enough treats of your own though because it will probably last you until Christmas. That’s where the fun continues. Christmas candy is just as big as Halloween. There are too many flavors of candy canes to count.

I remember when it was solely about the red-and-white-striped peppermint candy cane, that you didn’t eat until you took down the tree. Now, candy canes are irresistibly colorful, sweet and sour.

After the holidays pass, and the year ends, you think you’ve made it safely without having to hit up your dentist. Then, Valentine’s Day comes around, with the quickness, and you probably eat enough candy for you and the Valentine you do…or don’t have. I’m still not judging.

By now, you’ve already said, to hell with your New Year’s Resolutions to stay away from sugar and decide to splurge on chocolate with the Easter bunny. We get it.

Eating candy is not a crime but splurging is never good if you want to stay away from the dentist and cardiologist.

Make smart choices and have good oral hygiene. Brush, floss, gargle and floss some more. Eat candy in moderation, like everything else that’s bad in the world.
