Chris Stylez Bio

Christopher J. Allen, better known by his stage name Chris Stylez, is a Canadian R&B singer-songwriter, musician, and actor. Chris Stylez was born in Ottawa, Ontario to Yvonne, a nurse, and George, a taxi driver. Both parents are of Jamaican decent. His father, George Allen, is ?rst cousin to legendary Jamaican reggae singer, musician, and actor, the Honorable Jimmy Cliff, OM. Chris’ grandfather Victor “Coolie” Brown, is brother to Jamaican reggae singer and record producer Harris “BB” Seaton , who was a member of The Gaylads.
Early life & Career As a child, he and his mother lived in many neighborhoods across Ottawa, and Toronto. Chris began singing at the age of three, mimicking songs of Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and Bob Marley. His ?rst instrument was a ukulele, bought by his mother, who introduced Chris to the piano. His father gave him his ?rst acoustic guitar, when he turned ten.
By 13, Chris had already been active in commercials Participation, Kellogg’s Corn?akes, catalogues (Sears), and performing regionally as a member of dance group SacJam. Chris attended Lisgar Collegiate Institute in Ottawa, before moving to Toronto, where he attended an additional three High Schools.

He moved to New York City, took up acting classes, and earned his way by doing radio, and television voice-overs. While living in NYC, Chris was introduced to Moe (Relentless Management), an af?liate of the production team Midi Ma?a, who helped mentor him as a songwriter, introducing Chris to the music industry.

In 2005, Chris moved back to Toronto and began performing as an opener for various artists such as Jagged Edge, Wyclef Jean and Ne-Yo. He studied Entertainment Business Management at The Toronto Film School, and graduated in 2008. Chris then began writing and producing, his DREAMER EP at The Cutting Room, in New York City.
He is currently working on his debut album.
