Afrika Bambaataa Denies Sexual Abuse Claims In New Interview [Video]
The child molestation allegations against Afrika Bambaataa has been some of the most disturbing news to come out in 2016. So far a number of accusers have stepped forward to say the hip-hop pioneer sexually abused them when they were just young boys and recently the Zulu Nation released a statement on the matter.
“The Universal Zulu Nation wishes to announce that it is currently under new leadership by the International and Regional U.S. Zulu Leaders–As an organization we are in a very difficult position because we are being asked to condemn one of our founders based on testimony through social media alone. We cannot do this. We also cannot dismiss the comments of parties asserting they have been harmed. We have a duty to search for truth. We also need to be mindful that if these allegations are true that victims discussing this in a public forum has not come easily. We the Universal Zulu Nation wish to extend great sympathy to anyone affected by such issues.”
On Wednesday night, Bambaataa set down for his first video interview about the accusations where he denied everything.
“I never abused nobody. You know, it just sounds crazy to people to say that, hear ‘you abused me,’” Bambaataa told Lisa Evers. “You know my thing is you know all my people back then, you know the hundreds of people that been around me. If something like that happened, why you never went to none of them?”
