Help This Group Of Sisters Feed The Homeless Of NYC On Valentine’s Day With Their ‘Food Is Love’ Campaign (Details)
This Valentine’s Day, a group of sisters ‘The Johns’ want to spread the love by feeding the homeless in NYC. Food has always been the foundation of love within their family, so feeding 100+ homeless people on a day dedicated to love seemed fitting!
“Food is Love is a movement that represents my family, the Johns. In the 30 years that my parents have been together, my mother would always make my dad the food his heart desired. Even if there were disagreements between them at the time, my mother still served my dad the most love-induced dishes ever. We learned first-hand the magic of food from my mom, who made all her food with love. Friends and family would visit from near and far for her amazing cooking, and she always made extra to share.
My sisters and I are romantics. We love, love, and are foodies at heart. For us, food is love. We have been blessed our whole lives with amazing food in abundance, and it literally hurts our hearts to know that so many people in New York City go hungry on a daily basis. This year, we decided to dedicate a fundraiser to the homeless people of NYC, to give back by sharing love on Valentine’s Day through the medium of food, by serving a meal made with LOVE.” –Dianna John
The sisters started this movement via facebook, by sharing personal stories of how important food had always been to their family.
