In Freddie Roach’s World Amir Khan Can Beat Floyd Mayweather

Welcome to Freddie Roach’s world. His world is somewhat of a utopia. Its a world where two of the fighters he had trained: Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan can do what has not yet been done. Beat Floyd Mayweather JR.

Yes. In an interview with Ring TV, he said he believed that Khan had the skill to defeat the undefeated fighter.

“I always thought Amir had the talent to maybe beat someone like Mayweather. I think it’s a very good fight for Amir. I give him a very good chance to win that fight,” said Roach, who is winding up WBO welterweight titleholder Manny Pacquiao’s training for his Nov. 22 bout with Chris Algieri.

“He’s fast, he’s athletic. He’s a pretty good puncher, not a great puncher. He has all the abilities in the world.”

I believe before getting knocked out and losing a few times Khan was on the way to being that kind of fighter. Although talented, I just don’t believe he would be able to do enough to beat Mayweather at this point. Not at least without Roach by his side.

He had been looking to fight Mayweather in the past. He could possibly get that shot in May if Manny Pacquiao doesn’t work out. Which I have no confidence that it will.
