Deffensive End For 49ers Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges
San Francisco 49er Defensive End Ray McDonald was arrested early this morning on domestic violence charges.
There is not a lot of information on the case. What we know is McDonald was booked at 2:38 am and that the alleged victim was pregnant.
McDonald also has a previous DUI recorded form 2011.
This incident took place all of three days after NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell released the new punishment for NFL players who are accused of domestic violence. First time offenders get a six game ban and repeat offenders get a lifetime ban.
In the case of McDonald he may get a stiffer punishment because Commissioner Goodell has stated that pregnant victims are grounds for a harsher punishment.
McDonald has been with the 49ers since 2007 and has started since 2011. In 101 games he has had only 16.5 sacks.
With McDonald’s lack of production and his previous record don’t be surprised if Commissioner Goodell drops the hammer and bans McDonald for the entire season. Especially after he messed up the whole Ray Rice case.
No bail has been set for McDonald and there is no time table for his arraignment.
