Could It Be? Adrian Peterson Reportedly Wants To Become A Dallas Cowboy
Could the Dallas Cowboys be on the verge of acquiring one of the biggest running backs in the NFL?
According to a report from ESPN’s Outside the Lines, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson wants to return to his home state and play for the Cowboys.
Peterson went to the University of Oklahoma, but was born in Palestine, Texas. According to the report this is how the conversation went after the running back expressed his interest in playing for the team at the end of his contract with the Vikings.
“Well, I understand, Adrian,” Jones told Peterson during the call, via ESPN.com. “I’d like that, too … Well, I love your story. I love your daddy’s story. I’ve always respected what you’ve been about. I’ve always been a fan of yours. …”
“Well, we’ll see what we can do, if we can make that happen,” Jones, continued. “Hmm hmm … I’d like that, too … Well, we’re talking pig Latin here, but let’s see if we can do that … We’re talking pig Latin here, but let’s see what we can do about that. OK, Adrian, thanks.”
Peterson responded to those claims by simply saying the following statement to the Star Tribune.
“This was a casual conversation between NFL colleagues in which I never indicated I wanted to leave the Vikings,” Peterson said in a statement released by the team this afternoon. “I have always said I understand the NFL is a business but that I would love to retire as a Viking.”
This could open up Pandora’s box in the amount of penalties the Dallas Cowboys could face due to a possible case of tampering.
Jones on the other hand doesn’t believe that the conversation falls under the definition of tampering. I don’t know about you, but if that isn’t tampering to the 100th degree then I don’t know what is.
Life is always interesting in Dallas isn’t it. By the way, they have a pretty good running back in DeMarco Murray manning the backfield.
But what a dream it would be…
