Longtime New England Patriots Player Surprisingly Traded To Tampa Bay
It’s rare to see a big trade happen in the NFL once the preseason begins.
The New England Patriots are always looking to improve their team. Their lack of loyalty to their players has allowed overwhelming success over the years, although some may have proved unpopular.
Today they make a splash as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have agreed to a trade that will bring longtime offensive longman Logan Mankins to the state of Florida for tight end Tim Wright and a draft pick first reported by Jay Glazer of FOX Sports.
32-year-old Mankins has been to the Pro Bowl six times in his career and had a very good season last year.
Just yesterday the Bucs were looking for offensive line help by looking at ousted Miami Dolphins lineman Richie Incognito.
What do you think of the trade?
A day after the Buccaneers met with free-agent Richie Incognito in an effort to bolster their line, the Bucs opted to go one step farther.
According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, the Bucs have agreed to the parameters of a deal that will bring Logan Mankins from the Patriots. In return, New England gets tight end Tim Wright and an undisclosed draft pick.
