The Barclays Center was the place to be Thursday night as Roc Nation Sports held its first annual Summer Classic Charity Basketball Game. Presented by CC Sabathia’s PitCCh In Foundation and Robinson Cano’s RC22 Foundation, celebrities like Chris Brown, Fabolous and DJ Khaled took the court for a fun and entertaining game benefiting underprivileged youth.

In all, the game raised $1,040,666 for both charities to share equally. All ticket proceeds went to both foundations equally; both charities aim to increase opportunities for children in the areas of education, wellness and fitness.

Sabathia and Cano served as team captains along with honorary captains Kevin Durant (Team Cano) and Carmelo Anthony (Team Sabathia).

The battle between Team Cano and Team Sabathia was a hotly-contested matchup that came down to the final seconds. Team Cano got the 73-71 win after Chris Brown airballed his game-winning three-point attempt at the buzzer.

Highlights of the game included Terrell Owens, who dropped 30 points for Team Cano and was named the game’s M.V.P., Chris Brown, who showed off his sick ball-handling and passing skills, and DJ Khaled, who entertained the crowd with his failed attempts at making a basket.

Other celebrities like Fab, Ne-Yo, Tiki Barber and Robert Christopher Riley did their thing on the court as well. Celebrities in attendance who didn’t take the court included Rihanna, Derek Jeter, Skylar Diggins, Stephen A. Smith, Kyrie Irving and more.

“It’s important to support your teammates, it’s important to support your friends, and it’s important to give back,” Jeter said.

“What CC and Robbie are doing is amazing and anytime I get to be a part of something that has to do with charity, I want my hand in that,” Diggins said.

“CC is one of my boys, I got alotta love for him and his heart is always in the right place,” Stephen A. Smith said. “When it comes to the Roc Nation family I’ve known them for many years, so anytime they ask me to be a part of any cause that’s gonna benefit the masses it’s something I’m going to do to the best of my abilities.”
