Which NBA Team Is Making a Late Push to Land Kevin Love??? [Details]
Things are starting to get interesting in the Kevin Love sweepstakes. It was reported earlier that trade between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves that pair Love with LeBron James has now become a three-team deal, with the Philadelphia 76ers sending forward Thaddeus Young to Minnesota.
But now, just hours before the deal can happen, the Phoenix Suns have reportedly reached out to the Wolves to inquire about the possibility of acquiring Love in a sign-and-trade for guard Eric Bledsoe. Bledsoe is a restricted free agent seeking a maximum contract and talks between him and the Suns broke down weeks ago so Phoenix is exploring all options, including sign-and-trade deals with teams other than Minnesota.
The trade between the Cavs, the Sixers and the Wolves is expected to be completed on Saturday. Cleveland would get Love, Philadelphia would get Luc Mbah a Moute, Alexey Shved and a first-round draft pick, and Minnesota would acquire Young, Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett.
Bledsoe averaged 17.7 points and 5.5 assists in 43 games for the Suns last year. He missed 39 games after suffering a knee injury that required surgery. Bledsoe said if he can’t get a max deal this year, he intends to sign a one-year, $3.7 million qualifying offer from the Suns and become an unrestricted free agent next summer.
