Derrick Rose Is Experiencing Knee Problems… Again
Arguably, Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose has been the best player during the United States journey towards a gold medal in the FIBA World Championships.
Coming off major injuries to both knees in the past two years it was being reported that Rose just needed a couple of days off to rest his knees as he continued the second comeback of his career.
According to ESPN, it could be a little more serious as he has been feeling some soreness in the knees lately. Maybe it is because he has not played this much in a long time.
A source familiar with Rose’s condition said that Rose has been bothered by knee soreness since his return to the floor Saturday night in an exhibition victory over Brazil in Chicago and requested the extra time to recover. But Team USA officials, to this point, have downplayed concerns about Rose’s status.
“We’re gonna give him a couple days off because he’s been going so hard,” Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski said during a sports radio interview, which he gave en route to Team USA’s all-day trip Monday to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
Hopefully all of this is precautionary as we will all be cheated if we miss out on another lengthy injury from Rose.
USA will face off against the Dominican Republic tonight at Madison Square Garden in New York at 7pm. You can check it out on NBA TV.
