These Artists Are Finalists For Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show
The NFL is getting ready for a brand new season. Which means that the Super Bowl is right around the corner.
What is the best part about the Super Bowl other than the parties? The halftime show of course. And the league has their finalists.
According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, the NFL has listed Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Coldplay to perform during the extended intermission.
All interesting choices considering that they have been staying away from artists with plenty of sex appeal since the Janet Jackson “Nipplegate” debacle.
What is even more interesting is that the NFL is using this “candidacy” to ask for some money for allowing them to perform. As if they aren’t the richest league in the United States already.
While notifying the artists’ camps of their candidacy, league representatives also asked at least some of the acts if they would be willing to contribute a portion of their post-Super Bowl tour income to the league, or if they would make some other type of financial contribution, in exchange for the halftime gig.
Anyways, Rihanna would be the most popular choice as he performance can be epic. Coldplay on the other end could possibly bring a more diverse demographic, although one could argue that RiRi and Katy Perry would bring audiences to the program that would normally not tune in. Plus who wouldn’t want to see those beautiful women on stage?
