Happy 55th Birthday Magic Johnson! [Video]

We have never seen a point guard like Ervin “Magic” Johnson before, and we may never again.

At 6’9, Johnson played every position on the court successfully, and transcended a position that was less about flash and more abort simply making assists.

He was a champion both on and off the court as he displayed a mix of flashiness and leadership, and kept people in front of their televisions as he and Larry Bird battled from college until their retirements.

Magic is a 5-time NBA Champion, 3-time NBA Finals MVP, 3-time NBA MVP, 12-time NBA All-Star, an olympic gold medalist and one of the 50 greatest players to ever play in this league.

His smile allowed for the player to dominate endorsements and commercials making him a pop icon, and even had a late night show called the Magic Hour.

Yet, his fight off the court is what truly heightened our sense of respect as he is a survivor of the HIV virus.

He is a life-long Los Angeles Laker, but he is still making his mark in the world of sports as a part owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers – a team that is as talented as any in Major League Baseball.

Below you can take a look back at his career on the court.
