4 Life Lessons Jhene Aiko’s Personal Blog Teaches Us [Details]

If you’ve never made a visit to the Def Jam singers personal Tumblr blog then your missing out. The page not only has funny memes, trippy images and all things Jhene, but it is also packed fill with inspiring quotes and life lessons.

Check out these 4 Lessons on Life we grabbed from Jhene’s Tumblr.

1. ANY TIME YOU ARE WITH ANYONE OR THINK OF ANYONE YOU MUST SAY TO YOURSELF: I AM DYING AND THIS PERSON TOO IS DYING, ATTEMPTING THE WILL TO EXPERIENCE THE TRUTH OF THE WORDS YOU ARE SAYING. IF EVERY ONE OF YOU AGREES TO PRACTICE THIS, BITTERNESS WILL DIE OUT, HARMONY WILL ARISE.

As we get older we also come closer to death a reality that many of us fail to realize. We instead feel as if we have all the time in the world and those around us will be here forever forgetting tomorrow is never promised. Because we always forget about the end we fail in telling people we love how we feel or can easily hold grudges towards those we care about only to maybe regret it when time runs out. If we realized we where not also getting older and wiser but also dying maybe we would experience life in a different light.

2. JUST BECAUSE I LIKED SOMETHING AT ONE POINT IN TIME DOESN’T MEAN I’LL ALWAYS LIKE IT, OR THAT I HAVE TO GO ON LIKING IT AT ALL POINTS IN TIME AS AN UNTHINKING ACT OF LOYALTY TO WHO I AM AS A PERSON, BASED SOLELY ON WHO I WAS AS A PERSON. TO BE LOYAL TO MYSELF IS TO ALLOW MYSELF TO GROW AND CHANGE, AND CHALLENGE WHO I AM AND WHAT I THINK.

We as people change over time. It’s natural and apart of life. As we get older we tend to grow out of things, people, mindsets and situations. All the things you use to give your energy to at some point in life may no longer hold the center of your universe at another point. It’s not disloyal it’s natural.

3. DON’T HANG WITH PEOPLE WHO MAKE YOU JUSTIFY YOUR VIBE. BLACK HOLES DON’T GIVE THE LIGHT BACK.

Jim Morrison said it best, ‘A friend is someone who gives you total freedom to be yourself’. Letting a person be who they really are or allowing them to freely feel however they truly feel at any moment without questioning them or any of that is what a friend ideally does. When you have to justify yourself about why you are “yourself”  you kind of loose apart of you because your allowing yourself to conform to someone else’s idea of who you are or how you should be.

4. IT’S YOUR ROAD…AND YOURS ALONE… OTHERS MAY WALK IT WITH YOU, BUT NO ONE CAN WALK IT FOR YOU. NO MATTER WHAT PATH YOU CHOOSE, REALLY WALK IT.

Pretty Simple.
