Kevin Durant Offered $325M Endorsement From Under Armour [Details]
So is it Goodbye Nike and Hello Under Armour?
After canceling a recent trip to Nike’s Headquarters sources are now saying Durant may be leaving his long standing deal with the shoe company for a $325 million deal with Under Armour. Talk about the “Real MVP”.
According to the Baltimore Business Journal, Durant was supposed to be at Nike’s Oregon headquarters but didn’t make the meeting. His contract with the company ended last week. And to add to the matter Under Armour has put their feelers on the basketball star offering him $325 million to endorse their products.
If Durant takes Under Armour up on their offer he won’t be the only basketball star the Baltimore based company stole from Nike. Towards the end of 2013 Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry left Nike to sing with the brand as its premier spokesperson. Other basketball players under the Under Armour Brand included Brandon Jennings, DeAndre Jordan, Raymond Felton, Greivis Vasquez and Kemba Walker.
The possible signing with Under Armour has also reignited rumors of Durant leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder to join the Washington Wizards in the summer of 2016.
Guess we’ll just have to see how this plays out.
