Jeezy Addresses His Def Jam Diss On “Me OK” In New Interview [Video]
Jeezy hasn’t been on the greatest terms with his longtime label home Def Jam Recordings, first made evident by a Twitter rant way back in the fall. One would think since then any issues would have been worked out, but in May, Jizzle released “Me OK,” and in the lyrics, took even more shots at the label.
“When L.A. Reid was in office made some history up in Def Jam/ If Jizzle ain’t droppin’, n*gga, what the f*ck is Def Jam?” he rapped on the track. Though his solo deal is through Def Jam, Jeezy also has a label deal for his CTE imprint via Atlantic Records, and went on to threaten Def Jam with making the jump.
“I know you heard how your boy bossed up at Atlantic/ Boss sh*t, might just drop my next album on Atlantic,” he rapped in the second verse. Ouch! When the “Under The Influence” tour rolled through the Philly area over the weekend, the ATL rapper stopped by Power 99 and of course the topic came up. Find out what he has to say about it below!
