Dark ATM Reveals Trailer For Upcoming Project ‘Drug Dealer Chic: The Spade Era’ EP [Video]
In the late 80’s early 90’s extreme violence, corruption, primal fear and lawlessness ruled the northern tip of Manhattan. Due to its favorable geography to the other 4 boroughs as well as New Jersey & Upstate NY, Washington Heights became the breeding ground for wholesale drug trafficking. Sharing a language and an interest in money, Colombian suppliers began associating with the Dominican drug dealers of Washington Heights, quickly making it the epicenter of the drug trade in NYC.
Now on July 1st 2014 Washington Heights’ native son, DARK is releasing a 6 song conceptual EP that will detail the hustler lifestyle that was prominent in that time period. Sonically the project possesses a soulful tone reminiscent of much of the music that was being made during that era. The EP will be released in conjunction with a collaborated UPTNY Clothing Capsule Collection with Peralta Project.
