Chiefs Release Pro Bowl CB Brandon Flowers

After six years with the Kansas City Cheifs Brandon Flowers was released yesterday.

Flowers coming off of his first Pro Bowl season missed all of the Cheifs offseason workouts, sending a message to managment that he was not happy in Kansas City.

Last season Flowers was moved to nickel back during obvious passing situations while rookie corner Marcus Cooper took his position at cornerback, and according to ESPN Cooper has been taking starting Corner snaps all off season with Flowers absence.

Cheifs general manager John Dorsey released a statment yesterday.

According to ESPN,

“We appreciate Brandon’s contributions to the team over the last six seasons,” Dorsey said in a statement. “It’s in the best interest of the club and the player to part ways at this time. We wish him nothing but the best as he continues his career.”

Flowers also released a statment via twitter.
