Poor Jerry Jones: NFL Tables Talks For NFL Playoff Expansion

The NFL was looking at expanding the playoffs this season at the spring meetings in Atlanta.

Instead, they’ll speak on more important issues instead of bringing 14 teams to the postseason tournament.

According to Fox Sports’ Mike Garafolo,

No surprise, there won’t be a vote on playoff expansion for 2014. So talks here about playoff expansion were never meant to produce an immediate solution. Long-term goals in mind.

With that in mind it looks like they will speak about it again at the fall meetings on Oct. 7 & 8 in Detroit. Meanwhile, we’ll all debate about about it non-stop til then.

Looks like Jerry Jones has to hope Dallas does better than 8-8 this year for the Cowboys to make the playoffs.

The next earliest date the owners can discuss expansion is at their fall meeting, scheduled to be held on Oct. 7 and 8 in Detroit.
