Donald Sterling Will Not Pay Fine; Plans To Sue NBA

To no surprise, Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling is not going down without a fight.

The 80-year-old has reportedly sent a letter to the NBA telling them that he will refuse to pay the maximum $2.5 million fine, and refuses to be banned by the league.

He is also looking to enter a fight as he threatened to sue the NBA if they do not rescind their punishment against the owner.

Sports Illustrated caught parts of the letter that stated the following message.

“We reject your demand for payment,” the letter tells Buchanan, who on May 14 informed Sterling by letter that he must pay the $2.5 million fine.

This wouldn’t be the first time he would have sued the NBA, as he did in 1984 after being fined for illegally moving the Clippers from San Diego to Los Angeles.

The move could exploit other owners and even former commissioner David Stern. It could also force the players association and LeBron James to test if he really is willing to risk his career to sit out if he is owner next season.

All in all brace yourselves for what is looking like a long battle.
