Houston Texans Drafts Plans May Include Jadeveon Clowney; Trade For Ryan Mallett

With the NFL Draft only a couple hours away, the Houston Texans are finalizing their draft plans which includes a need for a quarterback.

Trying to kill two birds with one stone, the team is looking to draft the best player on the board Jadeveon Clowney as well as reportedly trade for New England Patriots backup quarterback Ryan Mallett.

Coming out of the University of Arkansas, Mallett was drafted in the third round of the 2011 draft.

According to Tom Curran of CSN New England,

The two sides are working on a deal and that it “may be done soon.” Second source says nothing doing at the moment on Mallett to Houston. We’ll watch how it plays out. Makes sense if Clowney is No. 1.

That would be a great pick up for Texas as they try to rebuild from a difficult 2013 season. I think Mallett is quite capable of handling a team full time.

What do you think?
