Steve Kerr Going Home To Discuss Knicks Head Coaching Position With Family
Phil Jackson is waiting on Steve Kerr’s answer as he looks to bring in a new head coach to usher in a new era in for the New York Knicks.
According to ESPN, Kerr is going to speak to his family, who happens to live in San Diego, and discuss whether if coaching the Knicks will be a a great choice as he is already working a successful job in being a lead analyst for TNT.
There are rumors however of the Golden State Warriors being interested if they let go of their own analyst-turned-coach Mark Jackson.
Marc Stein initially reported on that interest.
“NBA coaching sources have maintained for weeks that the Warriors have strong interest in Kerr should they elect to part ways with Mark Jackson after a 51-win season, given Kerr’s strong relationships with Warriors owner Joe Lacob, son Kirk Lacob (who works in Golden State’s front office) and Warriors president Rick Welts, with whom Kerr worked closely in Phoenix.
“But sources repeated that the Knicks, because of the former Chicago Bulls guard’s close relationship with Jackson, are the clear front-runners to land Kerr.”
I think if Kerr was to be a coach it would be with Phil Jackson and the Knicks, but anything can happen in the NBA. Will it be enough to bring Carmelo Anthony back though, I’m not too sure.
