Kevin Durant finally got his chance to win the MVP award

According to Marc Stein of ESPN.com, the Oklahoma City Thunder star will be given the award early this week.

He led the league by scoring 32 points per game this season, to go with his 6.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.3 steals for a team which is currently in in the second round of the playoffs.

Durant scored 41 points in 25 straight games, beating a record that Michael Jordan had earned in his prime.

“KD” did this without much of the help from Russell Westbrook as he was recovering from injury throughout the season.
