Baltimore Ravens Ray Rice Given Plea Deal In Assault Case
Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice pleaded not guilty earlier (May 1), on assault charges from allegedly hitting his wife at an Atlantic City elevator earlier this year.
He did apply for the New Jersey pretrial intervention program however.
According to the Associated Press,
The intervention program allows first-time offenders to have charges against them dismissed after participating in the program and meeting certain conditions. The county prosecutor will decide whether Rice is allowed to enter the program.
He was also offered a plea bargain that would allow the former Rutgers standout a chance to avoid jail time if he goes takes anger management classes.
