DeAndre Jordan & Others React To Clippers Owners Racist Comments; NBA To Investigate [Photos]
Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan is ruling a blackout on the teams logo in protest after a recording of his owner Donald Sterling was leaked.
Jordan posted a photo on Instagram with no caption, but that was simply all black. Saying much with no words at all.
The recording was leaked out by TMZ, in which he made multiple racist comments towards his girlfriend V. Stiviano after posting a photo with Magic Johnson and posting it on Instagram.
Below are some highlights of what was said to Stiviano who is black and Mexican herself.
“It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people. Do you have to?” (3:30)
“You can sleep with [black people]. You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want. The little I ask you is not to promote it on that … and not to bring them to my games.”
“I’m just saying, in your lousy f******* Instagrams, you don’t have to have yourself with, walking with black people.” (7:45)
“And that’s good. I’m living in a culture, and i have to live within the culture”
“I feel sorry for my friends Coach Doc Rivers and Chris Paul that they have to work for a man that feels that way about African Americans.”
“We are in the process of conducting a full investigation into the audio recording obtained by TMZ. The remarks heard on the recording are disturbing and offensive, but at this time we have no further information.”
I just don’t know how you can come back from this. You have a team full of african-american players, and coaches. In this midst of a huge playoff battle they now have to answer questions about the comments.
You also have to worry about the millions of fans who, many of them are minorities, who spend their hard earned money to watch his team.
