Indiana Pacers Still Show Signs Of Trouble As Turner & Stephenson Fight In Locker Room
The Indiana Pacers second half ended on a sour note although they made it to be the number one seed in the playoffs.
However, apparent problems in the locker room did not slow down some as the “new season” got underway.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, Lance Stephenson and Evan Turner got into a fight shortly before Game 1 began against the Hawks.
Two Indiana Pacers dragged a cursing, cut Evan Turner out of the Bankers Life Fieldhouse court, untangling him from a practice-floor fistfight with teammate Lance Stephenson.
Turner hadn’t been the first Pacer to lose his temper with Stephenson these tumultuous several weeks, and Stephenson’s relentlessly irritable nature suggests Turner won’t be the last. These scrapes aren’t uncommon in the NBA, but this confrontation had been weeks in the making and that reflected in the ferocity of the encounter, sources told Yahoo Sports.
There hasn’t been word about why the exact fight occurred, but NBC News is hinting that part of it may be because of the stress of their own numbers dipping a little this season especially after the all-star break when Turner was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to play a brand new role for the team.
Indiana tied up the series in game 2 with Stephenson scoring seven points and Turner with two points on only one shot.
