Brooklyn Rapper, FORE, Releases New Single ‘Hometown’ [Audio]

Brooklyn-based rapper, Fore has just dropped the first single, “Hometown,” off his upcoming LP, “The Stranger.” The track rises and falls with swelling horns and distant synths as Fore evocatively describes the struggles of being an immigrant in New York. He discusses the many ways in which the city life can build you up as it breaks you down – about how relationships develop over time. The hook, “Little do they know” is about the duality of this experience; to those from wherever you originate, you’re viewed as a hero for making it to America, while to Americans, you’re mostly invisible, viewed as little more than just another face in the crowd.
