New York Yankees To Bring Back ‘Core 4’ For Yankee Stadium’s Opening Day

With Derek Jeter announcing that the 2014 season will be his last year, the New York Yankees have to make sure they start the season at Yankee Stadium in style.

That’s why Monday afternoon when they open up the gates for the first time this season, a familiar feel will be in the stadium.

Recently retired Mariano Rivera and Andy Pettitte will be throwing the first pitch to both Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada before the game. The two will also be honored with the “Pride of the Yankees Award.”

This will probably be the last time to get a photo-op with the four until possibly Old Timers Day later this season.

If you are looking for tickets to the game you can check out the Yankees Ticket Exchange.
