Metta World Peace Speaks To Phil Jackson; Wants To Return To The Knicks;
Good news for New York Knicks fans! You may see the return of one Metta World Peace (aka the basketball player formally known as Ron Artest.)
According to Marc Berman of the New York Post the former Knick met with his former coach during the teams embarrassing game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday. It was what is being called, “equivalent to a job interview.”
It seems like the two had a pretty good talk and that Jackson’s hiring give him an itch to return and give it one more try with his hometown team after accepting a buyout a few weeks ago.
Sources close to World Peace said he’s longing for another chance with the Knicks. One confidant told Berman that the 34-year-old “abso-bleeping-lutely” wants to find his way back onto New York’s roster over the offseason.
That pretty much sums it up.
The Queens native didn’t look like himself all season as he looks to have slowed down and was also suffering from multiple injuries.
Can he help out by teaching a more structured, triangle offense team next season? Hmm we’ll see… what do you think?
Does World Peace deserve a second chance with the Knicks?
