Julius Peppers Signs to The Packers [Details]

If you are Chicago Bears fan you might want to sit down before reading this story.

Defensive End Julius Peppers has signed a three year deal with the the Green Bay Packers, who are the Bears division rivals.

Arron Rodgers must be very happy about this move.

According to ESPN.com Peppers signed a 3 year $30 million contract with 7.5 million guaranteed

The eight time pro bowler was released from the Bears last week after Peppers had the worst season in his career with 7 sacks. Also Peppers accounted for over $18 million against the salary cap.

This could be exactly what the Packers need to help them get over the hump and back into the championship hunt. The only problem is Peppers is 34 and it is not clear how much he has left in the tank.

Peppers did have 29 sacks during his three year stint with the Bears and in his 12 seasons in the NFL, only three of them he recorded under 10 sacks (2003, 2007, and last year).

We will have to wait and see what happens. One thing is for sure, if Peppers is even half the player that he has shown to be over the years he will definitely help the struggling Packers defense.

Let us know what you think. Is this a good move for the Packers or is Peppers way past his prime?
