Rajon Rondo & Josh Smith Looking To Create A Dream Team Together
Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo may be looking to test free agency when he is eligible for freedom after the 2014-2015 season.
When he gets that chance, he may want current Detroit Pistons small forward Josh Smith to join him to his future destination.
Not exactly the dream team of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade but they could be pretty exciting.
The two played together at Oak Hill Academy in Virginia where they once took part in an undefeated season before going to the professional ranks.
It is possible that the two can reunite through trade in the near future, but with Boston in rebuilding mode, would they be willing to take such a hit to their plans to please Rondo?
Smith spoke to ESPN about the possibly.
“The conversation comes up. We always tell each other how surreal a moment that would be for us to be able to reconnect again in that realm.”
“It can be far-fetched, but it could be possible too, at the same time,” Smith added. “I’m always optimistic. I always think of different scenarios. It could happen, but who knows?”
The two could make for a high flying duo, but with multiple draft picks, and a decent free agent class that could include LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Luol Deng among others, do you think they can build a championship team in the near future?
