New York Knicks Point Guard Arrested For Gun Possession
Raymond Felton has had one of the worst seasons a player can go through in the NBA.
He’s been called fat, one of the worst point guards in the NBA, was almost traded, is going through a divorce, and now you can add an arrest to the resume this year.
Felton was arrested early this morning (Tuesday,) on three counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
ESPN helped break the news.
Felton was charged with second- and third-degree criminal possession of a firearm, which are felonies, and fourth-degree possession of a firearm, which is a misdemeanor, the spokesman said.
Felton is expected to appear in criminal court in Manhattan later Tuesday morning. The charges don’t stem from him using the firearm in a menacing manner but of possessing a gun he wasn’t registered to have, according to the spokesman.
Felton, 29, turned himself in at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday and was questioned at the 20th Precinct in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, hours after the Knicks’ loss to the Dallas Mavericks, the spokesman said.
Things get a little fishy after learning that his wife, that is currently filing for a divorce, brought in the pistol to the police station. It is being reported that he allegedly pointed the gun at her.
Felton surrendered after his wife, Ariane Raymondo-Felton, 26, brought a Belgian pistol — an FNH 5.7×28 mm. — that belonged to the hoops star, sources said.
