Yankees and Brett Gardner Come to a Deal (Details)
The Yankees have been doing what they do best this offseason, spending money. Out fielder Brett Gardner is the latest to receive a lucrative contract from the Bronx Bombers.
Gardner agreed to a four year contract worth $52 million that according to ESPN.com starts in 2015 and includes a 12.5 million dollar option.
Gardener was eligible for free agency at the end of the season.
The 30 year old Yankee is known as one of the best defensive outfielders in the MLB. Gardner also batted .277 with eight home runs, 52 RBIs and 24 stolen bases last season.
Gardner now joins a group of Yankees who got monster contracts this offseason including Masahiro Tanaka, Brian McCann and Carlos Beltran.
