College Player Shoves Rival Fan in Frustration. [Video]

Oklahoma State guard Marcus Smart channeled his inner Ron Artest last night, shoving a rival fan in the final seconds of OSU’s loss to Texas Tech.

While not even on the same planet with the infamous Pacers/Pistons Brawl in 2004, this is still a very big deal.

Smart was trying to block a fast break dunk from behind with 6.2 seconds left and stumbled into the crowd. While Smart was getting up it seemed as if a fan said something to irritate him. Smart then darted into the fans face exchanged words and shoved him.

According to ESPN.com the fans name was Jeff Orr whose is apparently a Texas Tech super fan who travels to almost every Texas Tech basketball game both home and away.

After the shove Smart was immediate given a Technical Foul but was not ejected.

Smart was not easy to calm down after the incident. Throughout the final moments of the game it seemed as if Smart was trying to make his case and was unapologetic about shoving Orr.

According to the Tulsa World, the OSU radio crew reported that Smart was telling his coach Travis Ford along with who ever else would listen that Orr called Smart the N-Word.

The Tulsa world reported:

Former Cowboy Doug Gottlieb obtained screen images of a text message conversation he said came from a friend who knows Orr, and Gottlieb posted images of the conversation on his Twitter feed. In the texts, Orr said he regretted the incident and didn’t reveal what he said, although said it wasn’t the N word or anything vulgar.

As of now a lot of the information is vague. Allegedly when you watch the video, right before Smart shoves Orr you can see Orr mouth out “Sorry about that”. Right now everything is alleged but the Big 12 is investigating the entire ordeal to see what punishment fits the crime.
