Blake Griffin May Never Do a Dunk Contest Again. [Video]

Blake Griffins Dunk contest performance in 2011 may be last one we see from the Clippers All Star forward.

According to ESPN.com Griffin will more than likely not be doing the Dunk Contest any more saying that All Star Weekend is a time for rest.

“I wouldn’t say it was a mistake [in 2011] because it was a great experience, but it’s something I would never do again,” said Griffin, who won the dunk contest that year.

“For me, All-Star Weekend is about getting a chance to rest as much as anything. With the All-Star Game alone you still have obligations almost all day Friday and you have some kind of an event Friday night and Saturday’s practice and appearances. Saturday night for me now has become the time where I hang out with my family and hang out with my friends and take it easy.”

Damion Lillard the emerging star for the Portland Trailblazers will have a very eventful All Star Weekend competing in the Rising Stars Challenge, Skills Challenge, Three Point Contest, Dunk Contest and of course the All Star Game. Lillard will be the first player in NBA history to compete in all of these events in one All Star weekend.

When asked about Lillard’s jam packed schedule, Griffin told ESPN that he understands why Lillard is doing it but he is going to stick with just the All Star Game for a while.
