Missy Elliott Explains Her Career Hiatus [Video]

It’s been  nine years since Missy has graced us with  one of her albums. After dropping her last studio album “The Cookbook” in 2005 the very creative rapper-producer took herself from the spotlight to work more behind the the scenes producing and lending her vocals to other artistes singles (i.e. J. Cole, Jaszmine Sullivan, and Jennifer Hudson to name a few).

Missy recently set down with Yahoo’s “The Yo Show” to talk about her absence from music spotlight,  working on Faith Evans’s upcoming album, and how she lived with Faith before she became famous.

When I create something, it’s gotta be special, and it can’t just be to throw something out there because I feel like I’m Missy, I gotta feel like what I’m giving the fans is 100% and that it’s game-changing. I don’t just throw out microwave records.”
