Bruno Mars Not Getting Paid for Half Time Show.

Maddona. Paul Mcartny. Janet Jackson. Beyonce. These are just a few of the people who have gotten the oppurtunity to perform at halftime during the Super Bowl. Now 28 year old Bruno Mars gets to be apart of that coveted list.

According to BuisnessInsider.com

“We just got that phone call and they started scoping me out,” 28-year-old “Grenade” singer Mars told Forbes of how he got the coveted gig. “They were coming to my shows and they popped the question. It’s one of those things where I feel like it’s early on in my career, but … it’s definitely something on a bucket list. It’s the biggest stage ever. It’s something you’re not gonna say no to.”

You would think that the performing at halftime during the biggest television event of the year would be a pretty big payout for any musician. well you would be wrong.

“We do not pay,” NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy told Forbes last year. “We cover all expenses associated with the performance.”

According to Buissnessinsider.com the NFL does not pay the artist but pays for all performance costs which include travel, room and board, pyrotechnics, background singers/dancers, costumes etc. All of the costs can get up to as much as one million dollars.

Mars big payout will come in the form of publicity. According to business insider the NFL sees the halftime show as a 12 minute commercial in which more people will invest in the brand hat is Bruno Mars.

No musician has been paid to perform during the halftime show before but all would agree that it’s a once in a lifetime experience that is truly priceless.
