Andrew Bynum Joins Pacers.
It might be hard to believe but the Indiana Pacers have just added more size to their roster.
Andrew Bynum who was released by the Chicago Bulls earlier this season signed to the Indiana Pacers today.
The Pacer will be paying Bynum one million dollars to back up all star center Roy Hibbert for the remainder of the season.
With the addition of Bynum, the Indiana pacers become one of the deepest backcourts in the NBA. Featuring players such as all star Fowards David West and Luis Scola.
Probably the best part of this deal was that the Pacers stole Bynum away from their Eastern Conference rivals the Miami Heat.
According to ESPN.com,
“It really wasn’t a hard decision, I think it’s the right fit for me,” Bynum said in a statement. “In all honesty, I think we’ve got the best chance of winning. It will be great to back up Roy, and I’ll do whatever I can to help this team.”
Bynum, who sat out all of last year with a knee injury was averaging 8 points and 5 rebounds per game for the Cleveland Cavaliers before he got traded to Chicago for draft picks and Luol Deng. He was then released by the Bulls the next day.
