Brooklyn Nets Looking To Acquire Kevin Durant
The Brooklyn Nets are looking to acquire Oklahoma City Thunder superstar forward Kevin Durant, but don’t expect to see him in black and white before the trading deadline expires.
According to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News, the Nets want to pursue Durant when he becomes a free agent in 2016. \
They may be way over the salary cap now, but lots of money are off the books starting that summer of 2016, and with Jay Z being the forward’s agent there may be a future marriage.
Of course, when Roc Nation Sports added Robinson Cano the masses thought he would stay a New York Yankee. He did sign to the Seattle Mariners for a record contract though.
According to an Hoops Rumors,
An Eastern Conference executive told Bondy that he believes Durant will leave the Thunder, though the exec acknowledged that it would be difficult for the five-time All-Star to find a better sidekick than Russell Westbrook, whose contract doesn’t expire until the summer of 2017. The Nets could have room enough to sign another marquee free agent to pair with Durant in 2016, since their only commitment for the following season is the final year of Deron Williams‘ deal, worth $22.3MM.
That season Deron Williams will be on the last season of his contract.
