Paul Pierce & Kevin Garnett Recieve HUGE Ovation In RETURN To Boston [Video]
The business of professional sports these days rarely allows for one player to stay with one team throughout his career. So when the Boston Celtics traded Paul Pierce to Brooklyn an era, and legacy was finished in Boston almost as quickly as they assembled the dream team of Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen.
Last night the team of Pierce and Garnett returned, this time wearing the black and white jerseys of the Brooklyn Nets. And they were treated as Boston’s own as the crowd cheered everytime they entered the game, and surprisingly even when they made a shot against their home team.
The Boston faithful packed out TD Bank Garden as they came with signs thanking the two for their success, especially winning the 2008 NBA Championship.
Right after the first quarter two video tributes showing the success the players had for the team were shown over the jumbotron, an event that even Pierce admitted was tough to play in.
“It was tougher than any championship game. Tougher than any Game 7. This game was just so hard to really just focus and concentrate on what was at hand.”
As for the game itself, Pierce and Garnett both scored six points in a sloppy 85-79 win over the Celtics.
