Melo Sets Scoring Record at MSG. [Video]
Carmel Anthony was on another level last night when the Knicks took on the Charlotte Bobcats!
The Knicks deafeated the Bobcats 125-96 lead by Carmelo Anothny who droped 62 points breaking the Knicks fanchise record and also breaking the record for points scored in MSG previously held by Kobe Bryant who scored 61 back in 2009.
Melo made 23 of 35 shots and also grabbed 13 rebounds in the win last knight. According to ESPN.com the Knicks star knew he was fire after he hit a half court shot to end the first half.
“When I made the shot at the half, I told myself the zone was there,” said Anthony to ESPN.
Melo managed to pass not only Kobe but Bernie King and Kevin Durant to become the all time single game scoring leader in MSG history. He also joins a very exclusive list of players who have totaled at least 60 points and 10 rebounds in a game within the last 25 seasons. Some of the players of that list include Micheal Jodan, Shaquille O’Neal, Tacy Mcgrady and the “Postman” Karl Malone.
The Knicks snap a 5 game losing streak with that win last night.
